South Water System Customers Urged to Continue Limiting Water Use Until New Forsyth Road Pump Station Repairs Take Place on Feb. 13

Thank you to the county’s South Water System customers for conserving water yesterday as we requested.
The broken water main inside the New Forsyth Road pump station was successfully repaired yesterday, but the pipe burst caused significant water damage to the motors inside the pump station.
One motor is currently operational on a manual basis, which is sufficient to continue operating the South Water System until the inoperable motors can be replaced late tomorrow (Friday, Feb. 13) afternoon.
Buc-ee’s and Oglethorpe Power have agreed to limit water usage at their construction sites until the system is back fully operational. We urge all of our South Water System customers to continue limiting your water usage for at least one more day until we can get the New Forsyth Road pump station fully running. The South Water System includes all county water system users who live south of Johnstonville Road.
No Boil Water Advisory is necessary for Monroe County water customers as water service was never lost during this event. We will notify you immediately on our county website and this Facebook page if any Boil Water Advisory is needed.
Thank you for your patience in this important matter!
