Monroe County officially terminated on Wednesday, April 29 the employment of Monroe County Animal Services Director Becky Gifford after she was arrested and charged with Manufacturing and Distribution of Controlled Substances at her home this morning following a drug investigation by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
Monroe County Animal Services will remain open under normal hours of operation. Longtime Monroe County Animal Control Officer Carlos Santillan will step in as the county’s Animal Services Director on an interim basis until a new Animal Services director is named.
