The Building Inspections Department issues permits, reviews construction plans, and performs inspections all building and trade work for which permits are issued.  The goal of this department is to ensure the safety of both residential and commercial projects by administering the State Minimum Codes as adopted by the Georgia Department of Community Affairs.  These State Minimum Codes apply to the location, design, materials, equipment, construction, alteration, repair, relocation, demolition, and occupancy of all buildings or structures, including conventional, manufactured, and industrialized structures.
