Monroe County Firefighter Harold Boone’s Funeral to be held in Macon on Friday, Nov. 6

Monroe County Firefighter Harold Boone will be laid to rest on Friday, Nov. 6, 2020 at 2 p.m. at Chance Hill Baptist Church, 16463 Hwy. 129, Macon, Ga. 31217.

Boone, 49, died on Monday, Nov. 2 after an extended battle with COVID-19. This will be an outdoor graveside service and Firefighter Boone will be fully honored for his 30 years of dedicated service. Pastor Norma Wright will officiate the service.

Boone, who has served Monroe County since 2016, has been a firefighter in Middle Georgia for 30 years, having retired from the Macon-Bibb Fire Department after 25 years of service. In addition to his outstanding career in fire service, Boone operated a popular auto body shop in his native Twiggs County.

Boone was born on Dec. 14, 1970 to Jimmy and Hattie Boone. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Sharon Boone, his granddaughter, Nyjhae, his mother Hattie Boone and two brothers, Randy Allen and Kenny Allen.

He is predeceased by his daughter, Tenishia Boone, and his father, Jimmy Boone.

Bentley & Sons is handling the funeral arrangements. An Honor Guard processional will accompany Boone’s casket from the funeral home to the burial location.

The service will be open to the public, but social distancing and mask wearing is strongly encouraged.
